Build Your Own Website (1)
A one-day course that will help you build your own website using free WordPress software.
Build Your Own Website course
You will choose a template that you can modify and will learn how to upload media and add extra functionality using ‘widgets’. You will be able to further develop, change and update your website later.
You will be expected to bring with you a wireless-enabled laptop with words, images and other content on it.
You will need to register your own domain name and buy web space in advance – all of which can be purchased for less than £50. We will send you instructions in advance, but these must be completed, at least 48 hours before the course begins.
We will not be able to wait for anyone who has not done this before the course starts. Please note: we cannot provide technical support if your laptop breaks down during the course.
More details will be given on booking.
Who should attend
Any creative who wants to build a website that they can control and amend themselves. This course would suit writers, artists, photographers, actors, musicians and technicians wanting to showcase their work and provide information about themselves.
It would also be valuable for community and campaigning groups needing websites, hobbyists wanting to document their activities and other small businesses.
Qualifications needed to attend
No formal qualifications are necessary, but you must be computer literate and competent.
Learning outcomes
